"Oliver!" Show days!

Well, only a couple more weeks until opening night! To make reservations call 883-9212! Go to Portpolsonplayers.com for more information! I just saw the picture that they took for the poster, (it's on the website) and it's really awesome! I think that despite the fact that it doesn't seem like it will come together in time, all the pieces will fall together soon! Karen said we ought' to know the whole entire play by next week!

You know, I think of plays like a jigsaw puzzle. Each person in the play is a piece of the puzzle, without all of the puzzle pieces, the play, or "Puzzle" doesn't work! Also, all of the pieces must be put in the exactly the right place, or the puzzle doesn't work.

Well, anyway, It's shaping up to be a great show!
Hope to see whoever is reading this there!
Here's the song I am going to close with today,
"I"d do anything, for you dear, anything, For you mean everything to me! I know that I'd go anywhere, for your smile, anywhere, for your smile, everywhere I'd see!
Let the clouds of grey, come along, Never mind if they, come along, surely they won't stay, Very long, If you'll only say, Your'e mine Alone!
I'd risk everything, for this bliss, everythinng! Yes I'd do anything- anything for you!"

Results for the "Oliver!" auditions

Sorry I took so long to tell you about the Results for the "Oliver!" cast, I was wrong about everyone single one! Danny D. is playing Oliver, (I thought he would play Dodger) Mikey M. is playing "The Artful Dodger", (I thought he would be playing Oliver!) and Olivia Hewston, who is my age is playing Bet, the part that I wanted. Well, and as far as adults go, Amy K. isn't even in the play, though I thought she would be, she seems to be in all of Karen and Neal's plays! Cathy Gillhouse is playing Widow Corney/Mrs.Bumble, I think she will do a good job. Neal is playing Mr. Bumble, Steve Alexander is playing the downright creepy, violent villian in the play, Bill Sikes. Mikey M.'s dad is playing Fagin, and as for the rest of the characters, I don't really know the names of the people who are playing them. As for me, I am an orphan at the workhouse, one of Fagin's kids, a strawberry seller in "Who Will Buy", and a normal person in "Who Will Buy", and who know's what else! Well, I will go now, bye!
"How could we forget, how could we let our dear old Fagin worry? We love hime so we'll come back home in oh such a great big hurry! It's him that plays the piper, it's us that pipes his tune! So long Fare the well, Pip pip cheerio, we'll be back soon!"

After the Oliver! auditions

The Oliver! auditions went great! I think we are gong to have a pretty good cast! I will list all the people thast were there: Me (duh!), Cassie Carlyle, Hannah Madsen, Ashley Alexander, Taylor Collinge, Olivia Hewston, Tiva, Danny DiGiallonardo, Mike Mercer, Kelen Wright, and some other boy that I don't know! Karen also said that there were about 5 other kids that were going to be in it that didn't audition. We learned a few parts from some of the most famous songs like "Where is love?" which was ironicly one of the few songs I didn't bother to learn (but I worked on it today and now I know it) and "Consider yourself". Danny, Mikey, and I, were the only 3 people who had ever even heard the song, and we all knew it! They also had us say a few lines like "Are you sure Mr. Fagin won't mind?" and "Bring up some of the cold bit's that we put out for the dog!"
You know how at first, I kind of guesseed Danny was going to get the part as "The Artful Dodger", After hearing him audition, now I am almost 100% sure he will get that part! That part would be absoloutely perfect! I am also still pretty sure Mikey will play Oliver.
I think it is kind of funny that so far, more than half of the cast is girls! There were only 4 boys at the auditions!
Have to go tennis ( I'll Post something about that later)
"Consider yourself, at home! Consider yourself, one of the family, there isn't alot to spare. Who cares whatever we've got we share!"

Oliver! Auditions

Now the auditions for "Oliver!" are only 4 days away! And since it is 10:00, in two hours, they will only be 3 days away, well actually, let's put it this way, in 4 days, I will know what part I will be playing, who will play Oliver, and who will play Dodger! I can't wait to see if my predictions are right, as I said before, I am almost positive Mikey Mercer will play Oliver, and I think "The Artful Dodger" will be played by Danny Digillanardo. Now, as far as adult parts go, I think Widow Corney/Mrs. Bumble, will be played by Amy Knutson, she played miss Hannigan in Annie and has been doing plays with the Port Polson Players for a long time, she was in Valley Full of Diamonds when it was performed 25 years ago! As far as the other characters suuch as Nancy, Bet, Bill Sikes, I can't really think of anyone. I think Neil should play Fagin, even thought he probably won't, he would be a good Fagin! Well anyway, I ahve never been to any auditions accept for the January kid's plays, like Heidi and Hansel and Gretel. I can't wait to see what they are like, and, though I don't want to brag, I already know most of the songs! I also can't wait to see everyone again! When you spend half of your time doing plays with someone, and then you wait for three months until the next play when you get to see them again, you start to want to talk to them again and see them again. Well that's about all I have to say Good night!
Here's your closing song for tonight! "WHen I see, someone rich, both my thumbs start to itch! Only to find some peace of mind, I have to pick a poocket or two, you've got to pick a pocket or two, Boys! You've got to pick a pocket or two! Just to find some peace of mind, we have to pick a pocket or two!"

100 Candles

Now, we come to my most recent play! Every year the Port Poslon Players have a theatre day camp for kids who are going into K-8 grades, I have been doing it for 4 years. This year we were celebrating Polon's one hundreth birthday. We sang famous 1910 songs such as "Down by the old mill stream", "Oh you beautiful doll", and "In the good old summertime". We also did each of the dances from the decade we were portraying, for example, in the 1910's, Mikey and Sharidine did the waltz, in the 1920's a few little girls did the Charleston, in the 1930's Hannah and Beth's team did the foxtrot, in the 1940's Mikey and Sharidine did the Swing, and so on. Also our team did an excerpt from Winnie the Pooh, "Pooh must have been thinking centineal in the 100 acre woods" "because if you live to be 100, "I want to be a hundred minus 1 day" So I never Have to live without you!" Hannah and Beth's team did Dr. Suess, "Don't cry because it's over, Be happy that it happened!". And then Sharidine's team did my favorite scene in the whole play, Gilligan's island, "Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a faitful trip!" Also, at the end of the week, the counselours get together and pick awards for every one of the campers, I got the award for the most dramatic! Big Surprise, eh? (Hehe!) And now for the grand finale, the presentation of the centineal award, the most inspirational camper, and the Outsatnding camper award. First of all, the centineal award goes to, drum roll please, Remington Janeway! Now, the most inspirational camper award goes to, drum roll, Hannah Hobbs! (Yeah she's my friend!) Now, the big moment we have all been waiting for, the outstanding camper award, Karen gives a big speach, saying, you know, this person you guys, when they started doing camps, they would just, burst into tears every time! And we'd say, do it again, you know, and this person kept getting better, and better, and better, and now they're just exploding! So, without further ado, I would like to present the Outstanding camper award of 2010 to, Anya Smith! As I was walking up there I felt as if I were walking on air! I ahd been thinking of what I would say if I got the award all week, and I couldn't get it out of my mouth! I could hardly talk, all I could say was something about how Neil and Karen are a blessing to our comunity and my parents being in Hawiaii! Well, let's wrap this up with a song! "He did the mash, the flathead monster mash! he did the mash! It was a lakeside splash! He did the mash, He dissapeared with a splash! He did the mash, the flathead monster mash! Gulp!

Valley Full of Diamonds

After Hansel and Gretel, I was in the Polson centineal show "Valley Full of Diamonds". It was a play that is only performed in Polson every 25 years and is written by Karen and Neal. It takes you through Polson's years starting from 1910, the years Polson was incorporated! Each scene is a different decade, I was in the 1915 scene, where we sang "Make your good life great" written by Karen, and in the 1980's "Flathead monster song" written by a boy that I know's dad, and 2007, where We sang the "Freedom Day song" written by Karen. Now that 2007 scene is the one I most want to tell you about because It was one of the most serious scenes in the whole play, and one of the most special! This scene was with all of the taller kids in the cast. Did you know that one of the guys who raised the flag at Ewo Gima, was a guy of the age 18 named Louis Charlo! And then a week later after he helped raise the flag, he was killed in action. We were fortunate enough to make this scene more special than it could have ever been, because we had Louis Charlo's Brother Victor Charlo, Montana's Poet loriette, there to recite one of his poems that he had written about his brother. Now, usually, I have to say, that for some reason, movies do not tend to make me cry, but live theatre does. This poem brought tears to my eye's when I heard it. And don't anyone call me wimp, cause if you could have heard it, you would have cryed too! Well anyway, I guess I should close up with another song cause that is what I Have decided I am going to do from now on. So here it is: "There is a Flathead monster! It's out there in the deep! There is a Flathead monster! It gives us all the creeps! So if you venture out at night, no matter what you do! Find safe dry land before, the monster swallows you!"

Hansel and Gretel

The play that I was in after Annie was Hansel and Gretel, and I'm not talking normal Hansel and Gretel, I am talking Karen and Neal style Hansel and Gretel! Besides, it's kind of hard to do the classic version of Hansel and Gretel when you have two 65 person casts! Anyway, The characters include: Hansel and Gretel (DUH!), Thomas the wood cutter, Step mama, The brats, The chubbies, Sydney the witch, Gingerbread people (That's what I was!), Selene, the four seasons, the nymphs, General Pertersky, The soldiers, Mama bird, baby birds, and the creditors (That's what two of my friends played, another one of my friends played Gretel!) It was alot of fun! There were some pretty interesting songs! I sang "Gingerbread candy rock" and "Twice as Nice" which starts with the words, "The moon is made of green cheese, we're sorry for the mice! My house is made of candy! But to me that's twice as nice!" I also got to do the scene changes! It's alot of fun, I got to turn the tri- whatevers and also since I was one of the two tallest gingerbread (There were only 4) I got to put the roof of the gingerbread house on! I had lots of fun! Here are some of my lines, "Just do what we do!", "frosting and such, delightful to munch!", "When those kids see us it'll be a real crumby deal!"
Well that is just about all! Oh, I forgot one part! "Polson Oh Poslon the missions are your dome! at the foot of the lake where the white caps break you are my beautiful home!"

Oliver

One of my last posts was about when I did Annie, I have been in three different plays since then, (I will post something about those next)and it has now been almost a year since I was in it! Hard to believe eh? Well next month I am going to be in yet another play with our local playhouse! Oliver! It's funny that I even know about Oliver, cause, before I was sucked into the group of kids that do every stinking play they can, I wouldn't have even known that this play was coming up! All of the kids who do every play are already all talking about it and getting excited about being in it! We have even started guessing who is going to play what part. We are almost all in agreement that Oliver will be played by Mike Mercer. I know I probably won't get a part cause, I mean, there aren't any parts for girls, or at least I don't think there are, but with Karen and Neal, Well, you never know!
I have already started learning the songs, and I know more than half of them! One of my favorite from the play that I like to sing is "Oom Pah-Pah". It dosen't make any sense to me why Nancy is singing it, but I like the sound of it, I have even choreographed it! Another one that I like is "It's A Fine Life". I also have a costume that I always wear when I do it.
And yes, surprisingly I still want to run the theatre just like I did nearly a year ago! Only now I have made it much more likely now! I have tons of costumes and I am writing like five different plays! I have decided that the reason why I want to run the theatre is because When I am on stage, I feel like that is where I am supposed to be, I have even cried after a performance twice because I was so happy! I just love being up on stage, making people laugh, making them happy, make them sad, just performing!

Well I am going to go now, Bye!
